Sweeten your Valentine’s morning: how about a surprise breakfast?

Any day will be ideal to express that person or special people, how much you appreciate them and what they mean in your life. And what better way than Valentine's Day to do it through sweet recipes, made with the heart. And so, through flavors, sensations and textures, you can conquer even more their love.

That's why in Team® we have prepared a menu for a different breakfast, with easy and delicious recipes to surprise. You just need the following ingredients and a pinch of love to achieve it:

Main dish:

 

Ratatouille sandwich with whole meal bread and cheese (For 4 people)::

Ratatouille / Ingredients

  •     2 tablespoons of Olivetto® Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  •     1 eggplant.
  •     2 medium zucchinis.
  •     3 ripe tomatoes or ½ can of chopped tomatoes.
  •     1 red pepper
  •     1 onion.
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Pepper to taste
  •     1 sprig of thyme

Sándwiches / Ingredientes

  •         4 single whole grain breads or a large one
  •         3 tablespoons of mustard
  •         8 sheets of low-fat cheese.

 

Preparación Ratatouille:

Heat a large skillet with Olivetto extra virgin olive oil and sauté the eggplant, the zucchini, the tomato, the red pepper and the onion, all cut into small cubes. Season and perfume with fresh thyme. Cook covered until the vegetables soften and form a vegetable stew, for about 30 minutes. Rectify seasoning.

Sandwich preparation:

Sándwiches

Toast the bread and spread with mustard. On one side of the bread accommodate the slices of cheese. Finish with a portion of hot ratatouille over the cheese and close the sandwich.

Dessert

Oatmeal and caramelized banana waffles (Recipe for 8 waffles)

Waffle ingredients:

  •         1 and 1/2 cups of oatmeal.
  •         2 eggs.
  •         ½ cup of Jappi vegetable drink.
  •         1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  •         1 teaspoon of baking powder.
  •         1 teaspoon of brown sugar.
  •         ¼ teaspoon of salt.
  •         2 tablespoons of Gourmet Oil ® Coconut melted.
  •         1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  •         2 tablespoons of nibs of cocoa.
  •         Gourmet® Oil Control.

Caramelized banana ingredients:

  •         2 ripe bananas
  •         1 and ½ tablespoons of Gourmet® Coco Oil
  •         ½ cup of brown sugar
  •         1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  •         ¼ cup of water.

 

Waffles de avena y bananos caramelizados

Waffles preparation:

For the waffles, break the eggs in a deep bowl, add the vegetable drink Jappi, the vanilla extract, the Gourmet® Coconut oil and stir well with a wire whisk.

Add the oatmeal, the cinnamon powder, the baking powder, the brown sugar and the salt, mix until you achieve a homogeneous preparation without lumps. Let stand for 30 minutes.

Heat the waffle machine and grease with the Gourmet® Control oil, pour half of the mixture, decorate with the cocoa nibs and cook until golden. If you don’t have a waffle machine, you can try to make this recipe in a pan and it sure will be delicious.

Caramelized bananas preparation:

In a skillet over medium-low heat, heat the Gourmet® Coco Oil and add the sliced bananas.

Add cinnamon, water and sugar, stir and cook for a couple of minutes. Raise the heat and cook until the banana caramelizes, more or less for 5 minutes. Serve them hot on the waffles.

You can accompany the breakfast with natural orange juice or a red fruit smoothie.
